After an informative talk by Maria Irene [aka Puchu,] Flower Trend's founder, the women were prompted to pick out their flowers from a beautiful pink cart [a custom Piaggio Ape.] Then it was all work, work, work. With all of Puchu's tips, the flower arrangements were destined to look spectacular!
Some general tips:
Always cut stems at an angle
Chicken wire is a life saver and will help you structure your arrangement! It's also more eco-friendly than floral foam
Change water every other day [if possible!] to extend the flowers' lifetime
Determine if your arrangement will be placed against a wall, or in a position where it will be viewed from different angles. In the case of the former, it doesn't really matter how it will look from the back, that will go against the wall, but in the case of the latter, make sure it looks great all around
When making your arrangement, consider: base layer, focal flower, filler flowers, and flutter.
Base layer: the first step and what will create the structure; use longer floral branches or greenery
Focal flower: the focus of the arrangement, usually the bigger bolder flowers you have
Filler flowers: will help you fill in the blanks
Flutter: the final touch to your arrangement; will add movement to the composition, usually with airy and delicate flowers or branches.

Monica Calderon, founder of her eponymous brand told us 8 Things.
1. What's the last thing that inspired you?
My inspiration is mostly drawn from my trips where I have time to wander and explore nature's textures and rich colors. Recently, I was very inspired by the hoodoos in Bryce Canyon and the four different types of rock that form Claron Formation: limestone, siltstone, dolomite and mudstonemake.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Artisanal, one-of-a-kind, and vibrant.
3. What does your daily routine look like?
I start my day at 6:00AM with my morning ritual: journaling ,yoga and celery juice! This helps me be more focused and relaxed during the day. This is followed by a quick peak at the news, e-mails and Instagram! Then I make a light breakfast for my 4 kids and drive up my youngest to school.
At 8:30AM my work schedule starts with a a morning meeting zoom call to my factory in Mexico followed by a meeting with my design team. From then on its non-stop working!
Around 6:00PM, I cook dinner for my kids and my husband. We have a formal sit down dinner with a nice cup of wine or some nights a mezcal where we all get to share about our days! Each day is different since I travel a lot back and forth to Mexico.
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
Ritual Life in Topanga California is a beautiful place that offers experiences to assist you in connecting with your soul’s path. Also, architect Luis Barragan's house in Mexico City - it's not a hidden gem but for sure one of my favorites spots!
5. What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
A handmade caftan brand called Huach with fine linens from Merida, Yucatan, where I am currently finishing a residency artist project and my house!
6. What is the last thing you bought for your home?
Clay objects by Colectivo 1050, a clay brand made by hand in Oaxaca. Each object is intended to be as naturally beautiful, simple, and elegant as the artisans that give life to them. Traditional potters and contemporary designers collaborate to create jugs, fruit bowls, and other functional objects inspired by Oaxacan clay-making traditions and adapted to contemporary lifestyles.
This collective is part of a non profit organization called Innovando la Tradicion in Oaxaca. As a community leader with deep ties to artisans across Mexico, my philanthropic efforts includes the role of President of Organization for Huajes Valley Network in Oaxaca, Mexico - a community of artists, chefs, designers, architects, philanthropists, cultural promoters, entrepreneurs around the world that support and help the pottery communities of Oaxaca and their craft and traditions .
7. If you wouldn't be a designer [doing what you're doing] what would you be? Or would have liked to be?
A functional medicine doctor! I just graduated this week from IIN [Institute for Integrative Nutrition], a pandemic career...
8. Do you have a secret talent?
Cooking, which ironically is very related to my work. My factory is like a kitchen, and making resin products is like baking cakes! Similar process. You have a mold, you pour the resin, basically you have a recipe for every color and every design!
Monica Calderon provided the images above.
]]>Form and Seek's co-founder Bilge Nur Saltik told us about her latest inspiration and her ability to gather people together.
]]>Form and Seek's co-founder Bilge Nur Saltik told us 8 Things.
1. What's the last thing that inspired you?
New tapestry artwork in the Detroit Institute of Art.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Colorful, whimsical, fluid.
3. What does your daily routine look like?
We have catch-up meetings with the team every morning that include brainstorming for future projects. I normally try to block times on my calendar for new design projects so I can focus on creating. I teach in the late afternoons and try to keep my evenings calm and filled with things that feed my curiosity so I can refresh.
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
All the rough neighborhoods have these old buildings waiting to be discovered. Free concerts in DIA's inner courtyard - not easy to find but worth it!
5. What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
I have a bright yellow dress that brings the sun into the room. Love wearing that.
6. What is the last thing you bought for your home?
Blue and Silver Ester & Erik candles.
7. If you wouldn't be a designer [doing what you're doing] what would you be? Or would have liked to be?
I could have been a photo stylist or event organizer. I realized they are still related to creativity but you can't take out design from someone’s genes :)
8. Do you have a secret talent?
My superpower is gathering people. I ended up curating shows with that talent.
Bilge Nur Saltik provided the images above.

What we saw this week.
]]>Bandier is my go-to source for anything athleisure. [It has a special place in my heart because I always used to go to their stores when I lived in NY.] From actual workout clothes to coffee-run-sweatpants, and now even jeans and tees, you're bound to find a whole closet worth of goodies. My favorite leggings right now [their #1 legging], the All Access High Waisted Center Stage Legging. They come in different styles including a biker short which is also amazing! Also, must know [conscious] comfort - WSLY.
Super fan of classic Beyond Yoga for so much more than just yoga:
- This crop top
- These joggers
- These biker shorts [on sale!!!]
Another classic - Alo Yoga [before Kendall started wearing it...] because everything is so yummy and soft. This bra is the most delicious thing I've worn in a while!
New kid on the block, Girlfriend Collective. They are eco-friendly on a crazy and amazing level. Your leggings are made from either plastic bottles or recycled fish nets and they are very proud of everything they do [I would be too!] You can read more about them here. This unitard is everything!
I was having trouble getting the black Birkenstocks I wanted - all black Arizonas that aren't some $400 collab on MatchesFashion. One of my favorite brands Ganni came to the rescue, unfortunately at a higher price than my first choice. These clunky sandals made from recycled rubber are a good middle ground - plus they are a bit more dressy and can be worn out more. Couple of cons: they are super heavy so not necessarily suitcase-friendly and I have a couple of bandaids on my feet thanks to the soft-but-not-so-soft rubber. Totally worth it either way.
And although the entire country is wearing Hoka and On sneakers, I went the older, less trendy route with these Nike sneakers, and these Salomon.
Here are my latest "saved" from my Encyclopedia Instagrammica.
* Kika Vargas, señores! Must know Colombian designer - but not your average Latin American designer. I've been eyeing her for a while so check her out. Not great for the bank, but probably worth it especially because these and these are now on sale!
* Dragon Diffusion. A woven [leather] bag that looks like you bought it in a market in Mallorca. No it doesn't cost 5 euros, and no, you didn't get it in Mallorca. But who will ever know?
* Socksss. Fun and colorful for those into the whole crew sock vibe.
* The next Amina Muaddi is here - Mach and Mach. For your glam nights this summer...
* Brooke Callahan - because we all need a bold, different, [home]made-by-someone-random-on-the-internet accessory this summer.
* I'm thinking about trying this look - biker shorts under cutoffs. What do you think? Scenario 1: workout - you remove second layer and hit the treadmill. Scenario 2: beach day - you remove second layer and wear your biker shorts into the water. Scenario 3: quick run to the farmers market, no removals needed. Not sure about functionality - but does it even matter?
* Honest Bob - for the bucket hat lover, for the customize-your-entire-life lover, for the speak your mind lover...
]]>* Jewelry for sandal or sandals for jewelry? This latest collaboration shows no boundaries.
* Pearls don't have to be for oldies. Sitting on a rainbow enamel band, these pearls will make you reconsider their level of coolness.
* Slip dress from the coveted House of Sunny.
* Really into underwire and high-waisted bikinis this summer.
* How can anyone truly pick just one of these rings?
* Get yourself an animal friend that will sit by your side all summer long.
* For the more elegant evenings, someone for sure will ask you about this bag.

What we saw this week.
]]>1. Have you been getting @Alohas sponsored ads on your feed lately? They have been bombarding me for months! They want to shoe my feet for the summer. They offer affordable [copied] shoes for the most part, but some are not bad. Take a look, or wait for them to find you!
2. Crown Affair launched a dry shampoo [accompanied by it’s very own fluffy brush!] This haircare brand started off with a very beautiful albeit simple group of products: a comb, brush, oil and towel. They have been growing [and honestly just being cool] for the last several years. Now they’re helping us to hide our dirty hair! Fun fact - founder Dianna Cohen just moved to Miami!
3. a) I was looking for a dress to wear to a Cartagena [Colombia] wedding a few weeks ago and went back to one of the first [extremely] colorful brands I know, Celia B. Super appropriate for the tropics [although it was born in Madrid, Spain] and perfect for the summer. If you’re color shy, don’t even bother looking…
3. b) I ended up wearing a Bernadette dress by way of MatchesFashion. Followed by another Bernadette dress for another wedding two weeks later. This might be evidence of my intensity in loving something different, but more importantly proof of a well-priced beautiful line of dresses we should all go see... and wear!
4. I am OBSESSED with @dimda_. No need for words. Images will suffice.
5. Gucci presents the Beloved Show. “In a new campaign, Alessandro Michele envisions a late-night talk show that places the signature handbag lines… in the spotlight alongside Awkwafina, Dakota Johnson, Diane Keaton, Sienna Miller, Harry Styles, and Serena Williams.” Who is interviewing? None other than James Corden. BRILLIAAAAANT [and just plain fun!]

What we saw this week.
]]>1. Jacquemus, you've done it again. I tell, you what a brilliant brilliant man [brand, team...] Their most recent demonstration of genius - these bouquets which they wrapped in old season fabrics. These "fleurs" [flowers] are delivered by "vélo" [bicycle], but only in Paris [unfortunately!!!] Can there be anything more chic?
2. Summer is around the corner and I’m running into what I call the Birkenstock Dilemma. What “ugly” sandal will I get this time around? Birkenstocks specifically have been [re]solved as a clear YES. I own them, and I love them, period. Tevas, on the other hand, have been lingering for several years already. What's just the right amount of out-there-ugly-camp-shoe? Would you go for it?
3. Digital art has been around for a while. AI [artificial intelligence], however, is the relatively new kid on the block in the art world. I heard from a friend recently that artworks have been selling via blockchain similar to bitcoins. More research to be continued... In the meantime, here is an artwork by Refik Anadol using state of the art technology.
4. It seems the latest jewelry trend is colorful rings. The first “official” brand I came across selling these types of rings [plastic ones] was La Manso. Now it seems these colorful accessories are all over Instagram, mostly from people [because are they even brands?] creating them for anyone willing to buy them...
5. Oh Diet Prada! Sometimes I’m so happy you exist. I get a real laugh at things. Sometimes I get worried at where we’ve gotten. This Bottega Veneta case is just a reminder of how absurd some things [and prices!] are...
6. Did you know Chrissy Teigan and Kris Jenner launched a plant-based cleaning products line? Yeah, me neither...

]]>1. Three words. Or more like three people. Oprah, Meghan and Harry. Must watch! Must read [just google search, it's all over the web!] I don’t really think there’s a side to pick apart from the obvious one, but you can make your own opinion. Because some people think it’s all a ruse. I’m not sure...
2. Miami [well the entire world actually] cult favorite Eliou just launched a collaboration with pajama brand Thelma & Leah. 100% compulsive buy, but 100% so excited!!!
3. These Sunnei hoops seem like the perfect fun [dont-take yourself-too seriously] summer accessory.
4. Stopped by the Kirn x Primaried pop up this weekend [with my sidekick Maia, my eldest daughter]. Their last day will be Sunday, so you already missed it unless you leave now! But both brands [and everyone at this pop-up] is worth the look-up!
5. Gucci movie. Wait what!? Lady Gaga's post on Instagram has us all on our tippy-toes. She and [Girls favorite] Adam Driver got together for an upcoming drama, House of Gucci, about [what else] the fashion house.
Fashion, design, music, books, culture... you name it.

]]>1. I love sneakers. I'm in them all day. I've been eyeing some New Balance for a while and can't seem to decide which ones. As I move away from my Nike / Adidas comfort zone to discover new territory, I'm going around in circles. These have been on an open tab for weeks... thoughts?
2. Who said disco balls needed to be round and hang from a ceiling? These delicious ooey-gooey balls of magic are courtesy of art and design company Rot Ganzen.
3. We have been riding the wave of branded "merch" for a while. Hell, we at Undisclosed are guilty. Did you know we have our own t-shirts? [We launched in Nov. 2020 fyi, meaning we felt merch was a priority!] But what about wearing your city on your sleeve, or on your head, or hanging from your shoulder? The Cut talks about a new phenomenon, Zizmorcore, "a rejection of that urge to make every city feel the same. It is an embrace of hyperlocality." In this case, New York.
4. This is about so much more than flexibility... this is about Hosbjerg, a Danish brand making [well-priced] not-your-typical-monochrome-Scandinavian clothes.
5. Ever since I heard Sex and the City was coming back I started watching it again. I guess Instagram knows this and somehow I found this account. @anotherwomanssushi makes all the recipes that come up in the show! Not only does she remake meals, drinks, etc. and gives us ingredients and steps, she actually refers back to the exact episode [and season! and scene!]. That includes everything from puttanesca to ham and eggs, to of course, cosmos!
Fashion, design, music, books, culture... you name it.

]]>1. I'm a Ganni [super] fan! If I could choose only one brand to fill my closet [shoes included], I think Ganni would be it. Not only are their clothes AMAZING, they are steering the fashion world towards a better, more sustainable, direction. Last year they created a rental-only sustainable denim collaboration with Levi’s. This time around, no rental necessary, because you’ll have it forever! This drop includes jeans, jackets and dresses made from cottonseed hemp which uses less water than regular cotton. Run, don’t walk. I expect it’ll be sold out pretty quickly…
2. Another bag to add to the long list of tiny bags. This mlouye one doesn’t even fit your phone, but it's called a wallet after all [which you’re supposed to hang from your shoulder?] Anyways, anything seems fair play nowadays...
3. I’m happy I "recently" watched the Handmaid’s Tale because good news - June Osborne is coming back!!! Stay tuned April 28. Praise be...
4. If you live in Miami, and don’t follow @rachael.russell please go to her [pregnancy] "cake cravings" highlight. I've unconsciously [but maybe super consciously] saved every single cake she’s posted and they all look delishhh. I can’t wait to try one, but please let me know if you try one first. Her latest addition, this blueberry lemon olive oil cake. Just the name is a mouth full…
5. Did some kids home decor this week which included this mirror from Bi-Rite, some Ikea toy storage and this many-times-seen Gathre leather mat.
6. Did you know @edie_parker came out with home goods? Because everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is now doing home. Don’t be surprised if you’re eating on a Ganni placemat in the Fall. [I called it first!]

What we saw this week.
]]>1. First and foremost, it's Sunday so go follow @sunday.scaries, if you don't already. It’s originally a podcast [which I have to admit I haven’t listened to] but their Instagram is fresh, funny and just super duper real. You can thank me later…
2. @LazyOaf made it to my feed and caught my attention at once with their bold colors and patterns. I have been following since and waiting for that perfect piece to come into my closet. It might just have arrived with their latest release - a collab with jelly-sandals-maker Melissa which includes five shoes and three bags, everything in Melissa’s typical recycled plastic material.
3. I’m a sucker for sunglasses. I probably own too many [for a non-influencer of course] and want so many more! My most recent discovery is @Lu.Goldie, an Aussie brand making affordable retro sunglasses in different shapes and sizes.
4. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say. But I would say beauty is in this lollipop, don’t you think? What are these beautiful things!? How can you even consume them and vanish them from existence!? Hard Nectar is a NY-based lollipop-maker with flavors range from cornflower kettlecorn and vanilla orchid, to elderflower champagne and violet lavendar. OMG!
5. In a world where anything [and I truly mean anything] can become a trend, there is a coffee enthusiast with 168K followers on Instagram. I love coffee so I can’t complain, but I regrettably realized my coffee life could not be more vanilla. But when I do decide to be a bit more extreme I’m dying to taste coffee lemonade.
6. Small bags have been a thing for a while. Since the tiny-useless-but-still-want-it Jacquemus "le Chiquito" bag, nothing is too small. For me there is in fact such a thing as too small, if you’re going to call it a bag... it needs to AT LEAST fit your phone. If not, your bag is merely a necklace or a bracelet. One of my favorites, Loewe, launched their iconic puzzle bag in a nano version [they already have the mini, small, and “regular”]. It comes in 5 different colors, AND fits your phone. What is there to think about?

]]>1. I've been a fan of Sandralexandra since she started making corns and red chili peppers [one of the first FYI] for your ears. I bought my first pair in 2019 - a pepper and corn dangling from a gold set of hoops. Apart from moving into the entire grocery department [her selection includes any fruit or veggie you can imagine], she has since moved into gold-plating her groceries... Oh, and she also sells fruit loops! Whether you're more of a cereal person or a fruit and veggie one, you need her jewelry because it's fun and colorful, and who doesn't need more of that in their life?
2. New York had a full-blown snow day this week, and of course Washington Square Park was the scene of another epic snowball fight.
3. Also, for all you New York fanatics [because you are, or you are not] check out @newyorkornowhere for merch and prints like this one. Because where else?
4. I'm pretty low-maintenance when it comes to my hair and accessorizing my head [except for beanies which I wish I could wear all year]. Instagram thought I might be interested in these ponytails from Lelet NY [yes, another sponsored ad], and I think I just might. Maybe not ALL of them at the same time. What do you think?
5. I discovered Hannah Polskin via @weworewhat. Absolutely love her diptychs and triptychs. Not sure if I would go with black and white or ivory and white, probably black and white... Now she does mirrors too!

]]>1. Athleisure, loungewear, COVID uniform... this category [which is here to stay] has transformed the way we look at workout clothes. Because who really works out in this? Introducing Sporty and Rich, a brand that introduces collections with “drops”, supports charities, plants one tree for every order, and has playlists for you on their website. You get the vibe. Next drop is 02/01, don’t miss it and join the [Sporty & Rich] club!
2. For all you dog lovers, do you know Boobie Billie? An Insta-famous doggie.
3. Bode is a menswear brand designed by Emily Bode [yes, a woman]. Fun fact: she was the first woman to show at NYFW Men’s. Her clothing is imbued with history and narratives, giving the [new] pieces a vintage shop feel. Even though it’s for men, women can most definitely wear it too and for their accessories this fish tote is a total must for summer 2021. Available in black and white canvas, and red corduroy.
4. Thom Browne just introduced childrenwear! The collection takes the back-to-school Britney vibe to another [more sophisticated] level. The uniform will break your bank no doubt, but these kids look adorable don't they? There's a video to accompany the collection, depicting a day in the [office] life of these kids. Watch it! Very much à la Thom Browne there is more to be said… “The kids [in the campaign video] are all wearing the exact same thing, but the individuality of each one of these young kids is so strong and so unique and so special that it stands out beyond their clothing. I think that is the most important message."
5. Chanel does not stop, ever! In a year like no other, Chanel continued their traditions at the Grand Palais in Paris for their Haute Couture SS 2021 show [albeit with a much reduced socially-distanced VIP list]. A series of portraits photographed by Dutch artist Anton Corbijn were part of the [suspense] campaign moving up towards the show.
6. Yayoi Kusama has done it again. Moving outside of her infinity rooms in galleries [or museums] she will now be holding an exhibit at New York Botanical Garden. This much awaited show [originally scheduled for 2020] will finally open this spring [on April 10] and will feature the following works, amongst others.
7. If you’re into the funky retro hairclip trend, I discovered Chunks.

What we saw this week.
]]>1. At first I thought I was seeing something out of a cartoon. Figurines walking through various color-blocked rooms [The Sims maybe?] It took me two [or more like three] more times to realize it was in fact the Prada FW2021 menswear show. What was this!? A world covered in fuzzy carpets of color, an exceptional backdrop for the crowdless fashion show. BRAVO to dutch architect Rem Koolhass and his research studio AMO who created it.
2. ... just because we're in Miami and because I love @prosenkilde [must follow!]. Look at these sleeves! This is a 2-in-1 with the sleeves being part of a Nackiye top. New brand alert! Check it out.
3. I hope you didn't, but in case you missed it - inaugural fashion.
4. Oh Bernie, the Internet has done it again. Here are just a few, in case you didn't see enough.
5. a) Molly Goddard is a London-based designer that's been on our radar since her colorful tulle extravaganzas came up on our feed a few years ago. Must know, must see, must have!
b) She recently partnered up with UGG. Yes, you heard right, UGG - the [not-so-fashionable] fashionable Aussie brand well known for their sheepskin and plush lining boots. The result of this collab you may ask? Three designs - a platform mule, a fuzzy slipper and their quintessential boot covered in florals. All in bright, bold colors of course.

Our first night we have Google to thank for. After looking into “best eats” and “must go” places, we stumbled upon Boccalupo, an Italian neighborhood restaurant just 15 mins away from where we were staying. Located on a nondescript corner in what appeared to be a residential area, the restaurant didn’t really stand out. Had we made a terrible choice? Fast-forward 2 hours, a few glasses of wine, and two delicious plates of pasta, we were sure we hadn’t. We ordered the house-made pappardelle with Bolognese sauce – as homey and rich as you can imagine – and the goat cheese caramelle – a new discovery even for us foodies –, a type of pasta that takes its name from the caramel wrappers its shape mimics.
For our second night we decided to follow a friend’s recommendation and went to the Ponce City Market [mayor Chelsea Market vibes here!] A combination of shopping, eating, and hanging out, this market has nothing to do with a food court and everything to do with a culture hub – offering everything from Indian food and cookie dough ice cream to a kid toy store and a mystic shop. You’re also able to go up to the beltline [similar, again, to New York’s highline] where you can sit and enjoy the view. This market is full of character and charm, and some interesting tenants like MailChimp and Pinterest [they have office spaces too!]
We couldn’t leave the city without exploring a breakfast spot [because we are suckers for breakfast!] The name was a no-brainer, Pancake Social. It was hard to choose, so we picked our top three items on the menu: the salmon bagel, the BEC [bacon, egg and cheese] English muffin and the lemon ricotta pancakes. All were absolutely delicious! We sat on retro orange and white gingham booths and were surrounded by white and wooden accents. Scandinavian design at it’s best! The little gift shop corner was not to be missed which included pancake-themed merch and other not-necessary but 100% wanted things.
We went for the design, enjoyed the food, and left saying “Atlannuh”. Until next year…

2. Sex and the City [1998 - 2004] is coming back this year with 10 episodes. Samantha [the spiciest of them all] won't be making an appearance. Almost as bad as Full[er] house without Michelle. But let's not kid ourselves, we are watching anyways. What will Carrie's style look like in 2021?
3. Jacquemus shared images from his office across several posts this week. It is even more spectacular than what you would've ever imagined. [Also on Vogue.fr] Their kitchen sink with 10+ coffee mugs is an artwork in itself. He got called out for not giving credit to the designers but has since said sorry and the Internet has forgiven him.
4. I ran into Glare Goods [via Eva Chen I'm almost sure] a few months ago and fell in love with their mirrors. Now, the makers of blob-shaped mirrors are expanding their selection and including glass coasters.
5. For the most satisfying video of the week, this Dada Daily melting candle [via founder Claire Olshan] wins the prize. For more [absurdly] satisfying videos check out @sosatisfying!
6. Eyeing some jackets, not because I need them [in Miami]. But in any case, one and two [brands] are on my wishlist. Fun fact: you can build-your-own jacket on Marfa Stance - base, collar, hood and liner.
7. French brand Maison Cleo is a mother-daughter duo making handmade-to-order designs [they started off with just a few blouses and now have expanded to jackets]. They only open their online shop once a week on Wednesdays at 12:30 EST until everything is sold out [set up your alarm!] But for all of us forgetful ones, they have an exclusive collection for Net-a-Porter and I'm waiting for these beauties to arrive...
Extra&Ordinary Design founder Hyunhee Hwang told us 8 Things.
1. What's the last thing that inspired you?
‘La Mer’ by Claude Debussy. It continuously goes back and forth between harmony and incongruity.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Flowing, impactful, and eclectic.
3. What does your daily routine look like?
In this pandemic, my routine became very simple. Yoga, work, nutritious meals, and lots of walks. This time really offered me a chance to focus on myself.
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
I live in London. Barbican center is my favorite hidden gem. You can enjoy the historical English brutalist architecture outside and can sit in the middle of their conservatory enjoying a cream tea. Their gift shop is also full of rare but lovely items and books. Secondly, the lobby and library in the Standard Hotel in King's Cross. You can enjoy their early 70s inspired interior design, a pretty big selection of books [and drinks!]
5. What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
I love earrings and I have to wear them when I go out. [Otherwise, I feel incomplete.] Currently, I am rotating between 3 styles: some pearl earrings that are from my mom's accessory box that she owned for decades, a gold twist set which was gifted almost 12 years ago [they were sitting in my closet for a long time but now they are back on trend!], and a quirky set that is not traditional, but I love them because they have a steampunk aesthetic and are super versatile [either formal or casual].
6. What is the last thing you bought for your home?
A scented candle from Zaha Hadid Design, two years ago my friend got me one for my birthday and I just got myself a new one. [Almost one third is gone already in two weeks.]
7. Did you pick up a new hobby or interest during quarantine?
I became a plant lover. I have approximately 40 types of plants, and bought most of them at the flower market. Every single one is growing very healthy and happy.
8. Do you have a secret talent?
Propagating plants is my new skill to go on my CV! I am constantly making new pots of plants to grow or gift. [Considering the grey, wet English weather, this is magical!]
Hyunhee Hwang provided the images above. Collected and taken by herself in the last few months they represent her lifestyle, her inspiration, and her travels.

1. What's the last thing that inspired you?
The Copacabana promenade in Rio, Roberto Burle Marx's landscapes and paintings, and the natural forms found in Floresta a neighborhood in Buenos Aires.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Colorful, fun, and bold.
3. What does your daily routine look like?
It's like going to school every day now with homeschooling children at home!
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
The golden age cafes modernist architecture of Buenos Aires.
5. What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
A denim jumper dress.
6. What is the last thing you bought for your home?
A golden flower vase. Now I have my house filled up with flowers all the time.
7. Did you pick up a new hobby or interest during quarantine?
Returning to metal smithing and I'm loving it!
8. Do you have a secret talent?
Do a lot with little. It's all about being resourceful [more than excessive], and using your ideas to transform and create. For example, with a simple material you can create beautiful jewels or with basic ingredients a delicious meal. And there is no need to waste.

1. What's the last thing that inspired you?
A TV program with the British artist Grayson Perry. I love the way he thinks and talks [and of course his colorful work is just amazing!] He is so fantastic at articulating thoughts, ideas and feelings - he doesn’t pretend to know everything and he comes across so naturally. A rare combination of so many talents.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Eclectic, emotional and practical.
3. What does your daily routine look like?
At the moment I am working from home, instead of commuting by train to London because of Covid-19. First thing, I find out what my teenager needs, then feed all the pets; I have two chickens and a whippet who are always ready for breakfast before anyone else. Then I feed myself. Next, I drag the whippet for a quick walk [unless its raining, in which case that’s a no from both of us.] Then I check Instagram and do our morning social media posts as I have a cup of tea. I walk upstairs to my bedroom [my temporary home office] whilst there is some decorating downstairs underway. Finally I switch on my Mac and begin!
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
I live in central Cambridge, UK a breathtakingly beautiful Hogwarts-style city in appearance except its real! My two favorite gems would be The Haunted Bookshop. This is a tiny old shop in central Cambridge, stuffed full of second hand books from floor to ceiling, down a little alleyway. Miniature versions of The Complete Works of Shakespeare nestle next to forgotten books from childhood.
The rickety staircase where you have to hold on to a thick rope to go up the stairs as they are so steep, completes this marvelous shop. And yes, it’s haunted.
Secondly, just outside the city, a short 20 minute walk away is the chocolate-box village of Grantchester. Take the river path, not the busy tarmac one, and it will eventually take you to a field with a cricket pitch. If you run into some cows, just ignore them and they will too. There, at the edge of the village is the Orchard Tea Rooms where you can sit on a deckchair in a leafy apple orchard where the poet Byron used to lodge and swim when he was a student at Cambridge. Have a peaceful pot of tea with a scone under the trees and you are back 100 years ago in the blink of an eye.
5. What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
It has to be a dark green, furry loop scarf, now that the weather has turned autumnal. It looks great, keeps the neck toasty and warm, plus it never secretly slides off and falls on the floor trying to get itself lost.
6. What is the last thing you bought for your home?
I bought a long oval-shaped basket for my sourdough to make a change from the round-style ones.
7. Did you pick up a new hobby or interest during quarantine?
Yes, I am now a complete "boss" at sourdough. I know its a cliché, but after being unable to go to the bakery during quarantine I thought: "Right - I'm giving this a go, how hard can it be?" I even established my own starter [but also accidentally killed it not long after so I bought another from Ebay and we have been going strong ever since!] I've made some terrible loaves - heavy, claggy and burnt, but now I am on it. I know what I'm doing and feel secretly quite proud at how nice they are and bake once or twice a week.
8. Do you have a secret talent?
Yes and its a weird one. I can't read music but I can play any Christmas Carol by ear on a recorder. Only Christmas Carols though and only the recorder, which we all had to learn at primary school here in the UK. My kids think it’s hilarious. I'd prefer another secret talent to be honest! It's not that useful.

1. What's the last thing that inspired you?
Last week I went on a mini vacation down the South Coast and found a little hidden local bead shop. It was so serendipitous- I felt like a kid in a candy store and this is where I sourced the materials for my newest collection.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Classic meets contemporary
3. What does your daily routine look like?
I always start my day with coffee and a nature walk. I’m fortunate to live by the ocean so I alternate between a coastal walk and my favorite local park. Each day is different as I am a social worker too so I split my work week between clients and making jewels. My day often ends with a glass of red wine in hand and quality time with my boyfriend, family or friends.
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
I’m from Sydney, Australia and fortunate to call this magical place home. There are endless hidden gems here from restaurants to walking trails and breathtaking look outs - too hard to choose just two!
5. What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
This is a hard question, but it would have to be my Enesea gold hoop earrings. They add to every outfit and I rarely take them off.
6. What is the last thing you bought for your home?
My new coffee table by an insanely talented US based designer, Serra Studio and some custom, one of a kind ceramic table lamps with linen shades for my living room.
7. Did you pick up a new hobby or interest during quarantine?
Fortunately, due to the nature of my business being solely online, I have been busy fulfilling orders and creating new pieces throughout quarantine. Cooking is still something I’d love to get better at.
8. Do you have a secret talent?
Singing - but lets keep that one a secret :)

1. What's the last thing that inspired you?
I follow a French architect/artist on Instagram called Marie Passa. I know nothing about her, but this summer she has mainly been posting 2 types of content, formal experiments or high-concept postwar weekend houses, usually in black and white with plans and sections. If I had to choose between the entire rest of Instagram and her feed, I would take hers. The archive material that she posts says so much about a time and place, an intellectual approach, and an attitude to pleasure, joy and the good life.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Rule-based, playful and chic.
3. What does your daily routine look like?
I like to read the FT and a local Berlin newspaper in bed with a good cup of filter coffee. I head downstairs to the office. I'm lucky enough to live in the same building as our studio & showroom, so the commute is just a lot of stairs. I always try to get into the studio before anyone else shows up, for that early morning calm. I like to clear my inbox and deal with requests by 11am, when I break for CrossFit, which is a good way to discharge the inevitable frustration that an inbox can provide. After that I return to the studio, we often have a team lunch together, and I spend the afternoon, on design work and whatever else didn't get finished in the morning. I'm never in the office past 7, over-work is a sort of mental incontinence. I like to keep my evenings unpredictable, there is no routine there.
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
Our office is in Berlin, a city that I have loved since I moved here in 2003 from London (originally a Dubliner). Hidden gems? A city is nothing more and nothing less than the people that live there, and I have always loved Berliners. They take their culture, their pleasures and their freedoms seriously, even if they aren't always the friendliest bunch. Apart from that, I would say that the most often overlooked aspect of Berlin, at least by visitors, are the lakes that surround the city. You are never more than half an hour from some clean swimmable water, and if you care to invest an hour, you can be totally alone in nature. That means everything. I try to stretch the swimming season a little beyond the natural boundaries of mid April to mid October, as my father would say, "it puts hairs on yer chest."
5. What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
I have a pair of Nike Space Hippies 04, in beige and sky blue terrazzo. They are made from recycled materials, but they don't lead with that aesthetically. Futuristic and cozy, they mysteriously go with everything.
6. What is the last thing you bought for your home?
A huge, quality rice cooker. It revolutionizes cooking for larger groups, I now understand why no Asian family is without one. You can use them for quinoa, buckwheat, lentils and even to lightly steam greens. You can focus on the main dish, knowing all the sides are being taken care of by one easy-to-wash gadget.
7. Did you pick up a new hobby or interest during quarantine?
I started making ice cream, which it turns out was something of a cliché - I've met quite a few other recent enthusiasts. The best flavors were vanilla (it's amazing how much awesomeness is left on the table by conventional manufacturers) and right, sweet, expensive and potent saffron.
8. Do you have a secret talent?
Decluttering. I'm super jealous that Mari Kondo made a career out of it, but she really came at it from the right angle. It's all about the joy of the things you love, and the dead-weight opportunity cost of the crap that you don't.
Steve Molloy provided the images above. Collected and taken by him in the last few months they represent his lifestyle, his inspiration, and his travels.
NST Studio founder Natalia Teran told us 8 Things.
1. What's the last thing that inspires you?
It’s hard to pinpoint a single thing but I’m generally inspired by the women in my family and my friends.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Simple, relaxed, and fun.
3. What does your daily routine look like?
I start every morning with coffee, watering my plants, and stretching [when I remember.] And I try to fit something active in - like a bike ride, walk, or workout - either after work or in between if I feel like I need to take a break at some point.
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
In Miami, anywhere that is outdoors or by the ocean. My personal favorites would be the Center for Subtropical Affairs and No Name Harbor.
5. What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
All the more festive things in my closet that I haven’t been able to wear as much this year.
6. What is the last thing you bought for your home?
Flowers. I buy fresh flowers every week and play around with different arrangements.
7. Did you pick up a new hobby or interest during quarantine?
I never really had much time to cook so I really enjoyed cooking more and making new recipes.
8. Do you have a secret talent?
Making bags and jewels :)

1. What's the last thing that inspired you?
Right now I'm in Seattle, and a couple days ago went out to the old growth rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula. Being near these enormous trees that are anywhere between 500 and 1000 years old, feeling their trunks and the thick wet moss and ferns that surround them was incredibly grounding and inspiring. A great reminder of the magnitude of this earth in comparison with our time here.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Joyful, minimal, and mindful.
3. What does your daily routine look like?
I can't say I really have a set routine. I'm very lucky that my boyfriend wakes me up every morning with coffee and a smoothie, and I like to take a long time with those and slowly wake up. Working for myself means setting my own schedule which I really appreciate, and every day looks a bit different which I find to be a very important aspect of my happiness. An average day would see me either running errands, going to my studio to work on orders, staying home and answering emails from my dining table, or a mixture of all of the above. Before the lockdown I would go to my studio for full 8 hour days everyday of the week, but since getting used to working at home it's been a bit more flexible. In the evenings I like to have a drink, a late dinner, and unwind with an episode of Seinfeld and/or a book.
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
In New York, what was formerly known as the restaurant at the Four Seasons (now it's called The Grill or something like that), which was designed by Mies van der Rohe and Phillip Johnson in 1959, is one of my favorite gems in the city to go and have a martini when there is something to celebrate. It feels like stepping into a time capsule back to the glory days of Mad Men, and is probably the only setting where I would willingly surround myself with business men having happy hour! Bemelmans Bar is a close second, which is in the lobby of the Carlyle Hotel and who's walls and lampshades were painted by the author and illustrator of the Madeline books. Another hidden gem I discovered this summer is "The Lemon Ice King of Corona", an Italian ice stand in Corona, Queens. We went there on a hot evening and the whole neighborhood was so lively and vibrant and wonderful, and definitely the best Italian ice I've had in New York!
5. What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
Birkenstock clogs with the thickest possible wool socks.
6. What is the last thing you bought for your home?
Storage bins to put away seasonal clothing! A real game changer for my small bedroom/closet space situation.
7. Did you pick up a new hobby or interest during quarantine?
I tried to pick up a lot of new hobbies during the lockdown but none of them stuck. I found that I had an extreme inability to focus on anything but daily routine tasks like answering emails and preparing food [like the rest of us, cooking did become a new hobby by default.] The only thing that started to settle my mind and focus was when the weather started to be good and I would go on long bike rides with friends. One of the reasons why I'm in New York is that I'm an extremely social person, and I need social interaction in order to be inspired and motivated.
8. Do you have a secret talent?
Dancing!

]]>Laze Res co-founders [and sisters!] Alexa and Summer Bergholz told us 8 Things.
1. What's the last thing that inspired you?
The “holiday feeling” after a day spent in the sun.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Calm, artistic & luxe.
3. What does your daily routine look like?
Wake up, coffee, quick ocean swim, dry off with Laze Res and then work mode. (Probably followed by another coffee).
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
Noosa, Queensland, Australia. Probably the ‘fairy pools’ hidden just before Hell’s Gate lookout at Noosa National Park. Also Blue Plum, the BEST Japanese situated sneakily in the industrial area in Noosaville.
5. What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
Bikini & jeans - the perfect spring weather combo - and a handmade statement necklace!
6. What is the last thing you bought for your home?
We actually painted some new art to hang in the home today. Changing up art pieces and rearranging our living space gives us a fresh outlook and helps us keep creative! We love the feeling of change & evolution.
7. Did you pick up a new hobby or interest during quarantine?
Not so much a hobby but it gave us time to focus on our brand. It especially helped us stay creative and come up with so many new & exciting ideas. Cannot wait to share them!
8. Do you have a secret talent?
Our secret talent is sister telepathy. No talking needed to transmit what we’re thinking [haha!]
Bien Mal founders Bea and Ivan told us about their obsession with coffee and their new found hobby of making miniature clay bag replicas.
]]>Bea and Ivan founders of Bien Mal told us 8 Things.
1. What's the last thing that inspired you?
Watching the documentary "Eames, the architect, and the painter." Charles and Ray Eames are such an inspiration for us; getting to know more of their trajectory makes us want to keep creating new things and inspire others.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Unpretentious, joyous, current.
3. What does your daily routine look like?
Starting the day making strong espressos is a must for us; otherwise, we're walking zombies. Like most people these days, we're working from home. Whenever we're not in a meeting, we're working while playing loud music in our living room. Bea is always chasing good lighting, to take photos, and create content for Bien Mal, which might be her favorite activity. To end the day, we always go out for fresh air and to explore a new area of the city (always wearing our masks and keeping 6 feet apart, obviously.
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
We recently moved to Los Angeles and are obsessed with Owl Bureau, a bookstore that feels more like an art gallery; going there, it's a visual and creative stimulation experience. Another place that we love is Gjusta, a bakery in Venice with an amazing outdoor space and the most exquisite pastries.
5. What's your favorite item in your closet right now?
Bea: a mini bag (smaller than the palm of my hands) from Building Block.
6. What's the last thing you bought for your home?
A barista espresso machine. We wanted to bring the coffee shop experience home. It's been fun learning how to fraught milk and playing baristas every day.
7. Did you pick up a new hobby or interest during quarantine?
Bea started making miniature replicas of her favorite bags with clay. Ivan has been painting and rendering objects on his computer. We both picked up surf this summer since we are now living in California.
8. Do you have a secret talent?
Ivan: I make the softest and creamiest scrambled eggs.

]]>Atelier Saucier co-founders Nikki Reed and Staci Inspektor told us about their new found hobbies - from gardening to the perfect cup of coffee - as well as what inspired their latest collection.
]]>
1. What's the last thing that inspired you?
Staci: Our most recent collection was inspired by all of the nostalgic and artsy films we have been watching over the past few months. One that comes to mind as most influential for our Holiday Collection is the Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Andeson which uses bold colors and fanciful prints in the most exciting and eye catching way.
2. How would you describe your aesthetic?
Nikki: Saucy, modern, wabi-sabi.
3. What does your daily routine look like?
N: Staci and I really enjoy working out at least 4 early mornings a week - we feel lucky that Los Angeles offers many ways to exercise outdoors safely. We start most days in Downtown Los Angeles sourcing fabrics and managing production. Afternoons typically consist of design meetings, catching up on emails and packaging and fulfilling orders.
4. What are two hidden gems in your city?
N: My favorite area in Los Angeles is Topanga - a true gem of a neighborhood. It is filled with horse ranches, vintage shops, rolling hills, and amazing local restaurants.
S: One of my favorite spots is the Huntington Library - you can wander around various gardens, relax, take photos and become inspired!
5. What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
N: My white Air Force Ones - I purchased my first pair for my wedding after party shoes earlier this year, and now they have become an everyday staple.
S: Last year while we were selling our napkins at a market I picked up a blue + white jumpsuit which now is my go-to get dressed and look super cute without too much thought involved outfit.
6. What is the last thing you bought for your home?
N: Ceramic plates inspired by the different phases of the moon from Mondays - a Brooklyn-based studio founded by two badass women.
S: A new dining table and chairs to elevate my backyard dining!
7. Did you pick up a new hobby or interest during quarantine?
S: Brewing the most perfectly balanced pour over cup of coffee
N: Gardening! I planted cherry tomatoes, heirloom strawberries (from the Farmer’s Market), Sage, Chives and Basil.
8. Do you have a secret talent?
S: I am super handy around the house and believe I can fix anything!
N: Washing and getting stains out of ANYTHING.
